Congratulations
Accies offer their congratulations to a number of current and ex players who have been recently chosen for representative honours.
Jamie Farndale and Callum Reid - Jamie and Callum are both in the Scotland U20 squad who will make up the team and bench to play England U20 on Friday 3 February.
Jamie, who left Edinburgh Academy last summer, has been involved with Scotland age group rugby for a number of years. He captained Scotland's Young Commonwealth Games Seven earlier this season, is a member of the high performance squad and made his debut in Accies 1XV in October.
Callum has worked ever so hard to make the Scotland U20 squad - he has never been in a Scotland age group set up before being involved with the U20s. He left Trinity Academy a year last summer and had played for BATs for a number of years before progressing to Accies.
Tom Stevens - Tom who played for us for two seasons and is now in his second season with Glasgow Hawks is also in the Scotland U20 squad.
Hamish Watson - Hamish has been selected in the Scotland Sevens squad to go to the IRB Sevens in Wellington and Las Vegas over the first two weeks of February. He is on an SRU Sevens Contract and allocated to Accies for the season - he has played a few times for us but had a couple of lengthy injuries over the season that has kept him out of the Accies teams.
Mungo Strachan - Mungo has been named in the England Students 22 to play Portugal in Lisbon on Saturday - he has not played for us for a couple of years whilst a student at Northumbria University, though he has been seen at early season training.
Tom Brown - Tom is named in the Scotland AXV to play England Saxons on Friday 3 February - his first representative game at senior level. Tom is now a professional with Edinburgh, having played for Accies the first two years after he left Edinburgh Academy.
Well done to all of them, we hope they have good games and enjoy the experience.
