BATs’ Review 22 April 2016
Last weekend saw two successful BATs’ age group tours to the Lake District. Both sets of boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were a credit to BATs on and off the field.
BATs P7s (U12) Tour to Windermere:
The P7s (U12s) faced tough opposition in Hartlepool, Ponteland and Percy Park and ran them close in our games, including a well-earned draw against Percy Park. A very big and skilful Hartlepool team were the eventual, well-deserved winners of the tournament.
The boys enjoyed meeting the other teams, who all expressed an interest in coming to Raeburn Place and meeting up again next season
Sincere thanks to everyone who helped organise and fundraise for the tour.
BATs U15s Tour to the Lake District:
The squad of 22 U15s won both their fixtures: Hawcoat Park 12-25 BATs; Kirkby Lonsdale 0-45 BATs.

Last week saw us back into our normal routine with a full week of both school of rugby and extra curricular rugby. The 15-aside season is now over and the boys are into the fast flowing expansive game that is sevens. We made a great start to the sevens season with the U18 squad taking part in the Edinburgh state school sevens. On a miserable Friday afternoon, the Trinity boys worked hard for each other and put into practice what they had learnt from the few sessions we had managed to arrange before the tournament.
The team successfully played pool fixtures against Lasswade, Musselburgh and Royal High, which then put them into a final against Boroughmuir. They won this encounter to be crowned tournament champions. Congratulations to the whole squad.
