Back to Raeburn Day – Sunday 21 August

On Sunday 21 August BATs is jointly hosting a Back to Raeburn Day along with EAFC and Edinburgh Accies Minis. There will be age-group touch games, as well as taster sessions for those who are new to rugby and want to give it a go. Food and drink will be available to buy.

We are also hoping Trust Rugby International will be able to join us to demonstrate mixed-ability rugby, as well as former Accies who now play the game professionally. We would love to see as many of you as possible at Raeburn Place for this event to mark the start of the season. Please spread the word, encourage people to attend and bring along your friends.

BATs' Summer Camp

BATs hosted its annual summer camp at the start of this week, with good attendance across the age groups. Thank you to everyone who attended and all those who helped to run the three-day camp. Each day of the camp was dedicated to a different aspect of rugby, with day one mainly focused on evasion and days two and three looking at tackle technique, attack and game play.

SCHOOLS

Trinity Academy:

Trinity Academy’s successful tour to South Africa was a fantastic experience for all those involved. Two of the BATs’ coaches were lucky enough to accompany the school party.

Some great rugby was played while we were away with new styles of play being developed as the tour progressed. The U16s played very well in all four of their games, winning two and narrowly losing the other two against strong opposition. The U18s also played four games as well, winning one and losing three. However the scores did not reflect the quality of the games and the high level of skills on show.
