Successful Back to Raeburn Day

Last Sunday was our Back to Raeburn Day and the weather was kind to us, with the sun shining on the historic ground. The day started with the minis’ training session, with fantastic numbers down for this early in the season, creating a real buzz at RP.

We were then joined by some of EAFC’s senior players who helped to run the sessions and threw themselves into the activities with real enthusiasm. The kids loved having the players there but were even more delighted when our special guests arrived: Chris Dean and Blair Kinghorn are both former Accies who now play professionally for Edinburgh Rugby.

A big thank you to Chris and Blair for supporting the day and inspiring the next generation. Huge thanks also to everyone who made the day possible by helping with preparations and on the day itself.

Signed Scotland Shirt

Congratulations to Jamie Stewart who won the signed Scotland RWC 2015 shirt with winning ticket, blue 303. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and to Rob Cowie for drawing the raffle for us.

Training

This week saw the start of our Wednesday evening training sessions for S1-U18s. These are held at Raeburn Place from 18.30 to 19.30. All abilities are welcome and we look forward to seeing you all there.

SCHOOLS:

Trinity Academy: Trinity Academy’s rugby programme started again this week. The S1-S2 group will train on Mondays and Wednesdays straight after school, with the S3-U18s training on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Schools’ Conference fixtures for all age groups will take place on Saturday mornings pre-Christmas. Last year saw the school win the overall conference as all the year groups performed well and really put in the effort. We would love to see this continue this season, developing on last year and aiming for back-to-back successes for the school.
