CLUB

We had another great turn out for our Wednesday night session, with some new coaches coming along too, which is great for providing variety and focusing on different aspects of the game. The Wednesday sessions will run every week at Raeburn Place from 18.30-19.30 for S1-U18s, providing training and fun. All abilities are welcome and we look forward to seeing you all.

Sunday morning saw the first S1 training session of the season and what a great session it was with good numbers and some really positive work being put in. The session ended with a fast, off-loading game with some spectacular footwork on show, countered by some great defence.

SCHOOLS

Trinity Academy: The U18s had another huge win on Saturday, against Royal High, and scored some great tries. Trinity’s scrum half, Dan Quayle, was awarded Man of the Match for his phenomenal defence and equally standout attacking play. The whole team contributed to the win, playing entertaining, fast flowing, attacking rugby, which is what we are aiming for. However, the game also highlighted some weaker areas in our play and we have worked on improving and developing these areas this week.

Unfortunately the U16s’ game against Royal High was abandoned with 15 minutes to go, with the score at 5-31.

The S1s played a good game, showcasing their potential, but were eventually beaten by Royal High, 48-22.

Primary Schools: This week saw our new MA, Ben Appleson, launch our delivery to Flora Stevenson’s P6s as well as continuing to introduce rugby to the P5s at Broughton Primary School.

After School Clubs: The after school sessions at Broughton High School continue on Mondays from 15.45-16.45. This week also saw the launch of our after school club at Drummond High School – Wednesdays, 16.00-17.00.
