CLUB

S1: Unfortunately the S1s’ game against Lismore that was planned for Sunday morning was cancelled but the boys played an impromptu game amongst themselves instead. We split into two even sides and played two 20-minute halves with a lot of game coaching throughout. There were some impressive individual skills shown and great work at the breakdown by both teams. However, as a squad there are definitely areas for improvement.

U16: The U16s were also in action, with a game against a Stew Mel Rugby academy side at Inverleith. The game was played in three 20-minute sections. The BATs’ side was made up of a good mix of players from all the local school - and a couple of not so local schools too. BATs played some fast, loose rugby, which paid off as they secured the victory. Thanks to everyone who played and came along to support. Click here for a video of the match.

SCHOOLS

Trinity Academy: Trinity Academy played games against Preston Lodge across the age groups on Saturday. The U18s showed character and persistence to come back and win their game in tough conditions. They were awarded the school’s Team of the Week accolade for their efforts. Unfortunately, the other year groups all lost but several of the games showcased some great flowing open rugby and lots of potential.

Primary Schools: This week has seen the start of new delivery in Trinity, Stockbridge and Wardie Primary Schools, with sessions run by our MA, Ben Appleson, and our Jet+ student, Paul Little. In each school they have been working on a mixture of handling games, building into four-way touch tournaments within the various classes.

OCTOBER CAMPS

Remember BATs will be running two camps this October, one for primary children and one for those in senior school. Don't miss out - book now. Full details here.
