CLUB RUGBY

S1: Sunday saw BATs S1s training at Raeburn Place in preparation for their away game against Ponteland RFC this Sunday. This is a continuing link with Ponteland, in Northumbria, who the boys played last year. The relationship will be developed further when we host Ponteland for the return fixture in the new year. Good luck to the S1 squad on Sunday.

Wednesday training, S1-U18: There was a bit of a fall off in numbers last Wednesday due to mid-week school games, but those who attended worked extremely hard. It was good to see the ACE Academy guys coming down to join us, following their ACE Academy session.

SCHOOLS

Trinity Academy: The school had games against Dunbar Grammar on Saturday, with the U18s 22-man squad winning convincingly. The boys worked hard after conceding an early try and some tremendous kicking from the fly half, Angus O’Conner, who slotted all of his kicks, gave the squad huge confidence.

Unfortunately, the other games did not go as well as the seniors, with all age groups suffering losses. However, the work and effort that has been put in over the last few weeks is beginning to show, with much closer results. It is only a matter of time before the luck and the results change.

Primary Schools: Ben (our MA) and Paul (our Jet+ student) have been busy delivering sessions at Trinity, Stockbridge and Wardie Primary Schools. They have also started a new programme at Ferryhill Primary School. All the classes are mixed. The enthusiasm from all the children is great, as is their willingness to try and new sport and really give it a go. Some of the classes have already moved on to the rudiments of tackling.
