BATs U16s had their first match of the season on Sunday, when they were hosted by Madras in St Andrews. Following some great training sessions in the few weeks leading up to the game, the U16s were ready for the fixture. Some of the players were in doubt, following tough school matches on the Saturday, but a strong and cohesive squad made the journey to Fife. All the boys, both old hands and some new faces, gave their all for each other and were rewarded with a 37-10 win. Well done to all involved.
Unfortunately, Wednesday night’s training session had to be cancelled due to pitch conditions. However, the U18s took their session up to the RAF Hall, where they worked alongside the ACE Academy boys on some skills work.
Tuesday saw the P7s training hard with Simon Hodgson in conditions that are not sought after by many. Despite the conditions, there was a great turnout of enthusiastic young players.
The programme of indoor fitness sessions combined with outdoor skill sessions is progressing well. There are no fixtures this weekend due to the half term holiday.
Broughton High School:
This was the last session of the current block for the S1s so Callum and Ben organised a mixture of games and competitions for the pupils. The session ended with some of the class playing a full contact game on the full pitch. This had been requested by the pupils themselves and was a well-organised and well-structured game. We are looking forward to seeing some of these players develop through the S1 after school club that we are now running at Broughton on Monday afternoons.
