Play your Rugby at Raeburn Place
Edinburgh Accies welcomes and caters for players at all levels of the game: those wanting to play seriously and looking to develop their game further, those just moving into senior rugby and those who simply enjoy playing. Whilst we pride ourselves on our professional attitude to the game, we continue to foster a traditional club atmosphere.
Our coaching and support team is one of the best in Scotland and we believe in providing a coaching and management structure for all teams, not just the 1st XV. We pride ourselves on our work with developing young players through our weekly coaching sessions, our Accies Centre of Excellence (ACE) and our ACE Academy.
The Club has provided over 100 full internationalists - more than one in ten of all Scottish caps and more than any other club in Scotland - and we continue to supply the Scotland sides with players at all age grades.
We regularly field three teams a week: our 1st and 2nd XVs and a Development XV, which is specifically there to develop young players making their way in the senior game.
Our coaching ethos is to involve the entire playing squad in our twice-weekly coaching sessions. On Tuesdays the whole squad trains together, with players split into team squads on Thursdays. Each session starts with warm-ups led by our conditioning team.
Coaching sessions are generally held at Raeburn Place. However, between October and February, Thursday sessions are held at Broughton High School’s 3G pitch, which is five minutes walk from the Club.
Why play for Accies?
We are committed to quality coaching for all players and have a team of dedicated and experienced coaches who will help you improve your game.
You will also have access to a first class medical team (a doctor and physios), a conditioning team and a nutritionist – to make sure you are in as good shape as possible to play for the Club, at whatever level you play.
We support physio cover for each playing team and a member of the physio team is available at the Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
If you are interested in developing your own coaching skills, there are opportunities to get involved in coaching with our mini and youth teams.
If you would like more information, why not come along to one of our regular training sessions and speak to one of the coaching team? Alternatively, please e-mail our Director of Rugby: email@example.com.
