603 (City of Edinburgh) Squadron
Accies are delighted to establish an association with the RAF's 603 (City of Edinburgh) Squadron.
Based in Learmonth Terrace since 1925, the Squadron has an illustrious history and their motto, "Gin ye daur" ("if you dare" in Doric), is one we hope will inspire Accies players. As a Spitfire Squadron, they shot down the first enemy aircraft over the UK in WW2 and emerged from the Battle of Britain as the highest scoring squadron.
The Squadron is now part of the RAF Reserves and is responsible for recruiting RAF Police personnel, essential to the success of RAF Operations around the world.
Reservists from 603 Squadron have recently returned from operations in Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Afghanistan, with more personnel currently preparing for further deployments overseas.
