Edinburgh BATs Rugby

Youth (12-18) Rugby

RUGBY FOR ALL - in the North Edinburgh community

For young people aged 10 to 18 the Club also provides a youth section through Edinburgh BATs Rugby, which uses Edinburgh Accies' ground at Raeburn Place as their main base.

As well as Edinburgh Accies, Broughton and Trinity Accies rugby clubs, BATs are very pleased to have partnerships with Telford College, Active Schools and Scottish Rugby. Working with the BATs Development Officer, Iain Berthinussen, and the two Community Coach Students, the partners compliment and help deliver BATs plans in the North Edinburgh community at 4 high schools, 19 primary schools, at a number of after school clubs and various youth clubs and with the 5 BATs teams.

BATs run one or more teams at each age group P6, P7, U14, U16, and U18 plus teams to cater for females where needed.

BATs has over 120 players attending weekly coaching/training sessions and playing regular competitive games for the BATs teams - as friendlies or in the youth leagues. The BATs P6, P7, and U14 players train and play at 1pm on Sundays at their base at Raeburn Place. The U16's and U18's train on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm at Raeburn Place with the U16's playing their games on Sundays and the U18's playing their games on Saturday afternoons. The U16's and U18's also have the opportunity to attend weights and conditioning block sessions at Telford College over the winter months. The club kit is black shirts, shorts and socks with the striking BATs logo on the shirt.
