Accies V Co-Optimists, Tuesday 27 December, 1.30pm

How about making the most of your time between Christmas and New Year by meeting your friends, getting some 'fresh' air and supporting Accies when they play Scotland’s oldest invitational rugby team, the Co-Optimists on Tuesday 27 December?

It is an important game for the Club as we ready ourselves for the next part of the season to maintain our Premier 1 status. It is also an important occasion for the Club helping to raise the funds we need to run the Club and keep our youth development in north Edinburgh on the tracks.

The Co-Ops team will be built around the Club International Squad, which was recently selected to prepare for the Club Internationals in February. It will be a strong side and a big test for an Accies team that has had a month's break from rugby.

Our team will be based around the 1XV squad, with many of those players who were missing in November returning, having recovered from their various injuries. The team might be supplemented with some well known Accies - that depends on what Santa leaves at Raeburn Place on Christmas morning - we will find out who on the 27th!

Whatever the weather the clubhouse will be open from 12pm and you can be assured of a warm welcome. To keep in the spirit of the season mulled wine and mince pies will be available. And at 5pm the annual auction, that previously filled the Accies Club House year after year, will be resurrected. There will be a variety of lots (including any unwanted Christmas presents) to raise money for the development of young players in the north of Edinburgh.

If you are in Edinburgh please do your bit to support our great Club - the game kicks off at 1.30pm - be there - meet your friends - support the Club and the players.

It has the making of a good day for all and we forward to seeing you on the 27th.
