CLUB

Unfortunately, last Friday’s BATs U18s game against Livingston was cancelled due to poor conditions. This game will be rescheduled in due course. The promising young BATs U16 team are back in action this weekend, at home to Boroughmuir in the cup, and the side is itching to get out and play. Last Sunday saw BATs S1 host Glasgow Hawks S1s on a wet and windy day down at Raeburn Place – please click here for the match report.

Due to a technical fault with the floodlights down at Raeburn place, we were unable to run Monday’s scheduled ACE session, but the next session will take place as normal.

This Saturday is the BATs S1 tour fundraiser car wash. Please support the side, if you can, by taking your car along to the Edinburgh Academy Junior School between 09.00 and 14.00. The boys will wash your car for just £5 (£8 for larger vehicles).

SCHOOLS

Senior Schools: We have recently been doing a lot of work across the age groups at both Broughton High School and Trinity Academy, with a key focus on S1/2. Both have been going really well. Off the back of our success in building these young squads, we have also been able to run a successful S1 after school rugby club at Broughton, with consistent numbers turning up each week.

We are delighted that the boys involved will get to play a competitive game this Saturday, with the reinstatement of a Broughton HS v Trinity Academy fixture. This game will be played at Broughton Rugby Club as the curtain-raiser before Broughton’s final league game of the season, after which they will be crowned League Champions.

Primary Schools: Our MA has been working at Flora Stevenson, Trinity, Wardie, Broughton and Ferry hill primary schools, providing a mix of curricular sport and after school and lunchtime clubs. All the schools will come together this Friday, 3 March, for a small-sided tournament at Raeburn Place. This is a great chance for the youngsters to put into practice what they have been learning.
