Club Update - 28 August 2015

Welcome to a new season, a new league, a new President, some new coaches and a new(ish) team.

A new season and a new league are of course very obvious. We have a new President because John Wright has served his two years. We are very lucky to have Dave McIvor stepping into the breach. For more information about Dave, click here.

For various reasons (relocations, a desire to stay in Prem 1, work commitments, etc) we also have some new coaches and a new-ish team. For more details, click here.

Last weekend’s pre-season against a full strength (without pros) Currie was a good workout for our squad (click here for brief match report). The whole squad showed spirit, determination and a willingness to play for each other. We now need use that as a good starting point and up the ante from the very start of our league campaign, week by week by week, no going back.

To support the rugby, a number of people have been working hard to put in place some interesting functions during the season. In addition to our pre-match lunches, these will include the Long Lunch, a black-tie Club dinner at the Balmoral and a series of events organised by our new Players' group. We hope to see lots of our at these events during the season - these events are important income-generators to support our rugby activities, as well as being a good chance to meet friends and have a good time. More details will follow in due course and these will also be available on our Social Events web page.

The first event of the season is our pre-match buffet for our first home game, against Watsonians on 5 September. To book a place, please contact

Finally, the players really appreciate your support at the games and we hope that we will see you in full voice, especially at our home games, throughout what promises to be an exciting season.
