Development Update December 2013

You may have seen some recent correspondence in the Scotsman referring to an EGM of the Edinburgh Academical Club to vote on the granting of a long lease to the body that will undertake the development of Raeburn Place.

The EAC actually owns the ground at Raeburn Place. Although the planning application was submitted on behalf of both the EAC and Raeburn Place Development Ltd, the intention was always that this EGM would be held if planning permission was approved.

On Tuesday 3 December, members of the EAC voted overwhelmingly in favour of granting a long lease to the Raeburn Place Foundation, which is the charitable trust that it is hoped will undertake the development, with RPDL as a wholly owned subsidiary.

The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is currently considering the Foundation’s application for charitable status.
