Golden Oldies Rugby

Does the thought of running around with a rugby ball again still appeal? Do you dream of scoring just one more try? If so, then Golden Oldies rugby could be for you.

Golden Oldies rugby is a fun and social version of the game, tailored for those who thought they had hung up their boots but who miss the exercise and camaraderie of the sport.

It is open to anyone 35+ who can still jog and hold a rugby ball. Contact and tacking are dependant on age and different coloured shorts are worn to show which category you fall into. It is full 15-a-side rugby and the matches are refereed, but game time is shorter and there are unlimited substitutions, so everyone gets a game.

This is not a hard-hitting, aggressive game - the ethos is all about fun, friendship and staying active.

If you think this might be for you and would like to know more, please come to an introductory meeting in the Clubhouse on Monday 30 April, 18:30 for 19:00.

Golden Oldies rugby is well established in some parts of Scotland and around the globe and there is even a World Cup. For more information, visit Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby and European Golden Oldies Rugby.
