John Cochran

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of John Cochran on 17 April, at Edinburgh's Western General Hospital, following complications after an operation.

John was 71 and a stalwart of Accies. He had been a member all his adult life, joining once he left school at the Edinburgh Academy, and played for both the Rugby 1st XV and the Cricket 1st XI.

Regular visitors to Raeburn Place in recent years will know John as our gateman, where he and his dog Isla were a regular fixture at home games, no matter the weather. In fact, he was 'on duty' just three weeks ago when we played Peebles in our last home game of the season.

The Club sends its sincere condolences to John’s family. He will be much missed.

The funeral will take place at Portobello and Joppa Parish Church at 1.30pm on Thursday 28 April.
