Match Preview Cup R1: Accies v Musselburgh

Saturday 26 October 2019
1st XV v Musselburgh, New Field, 14:30 (see below for directions - NB no dogs allowed)
Scottish Cup Round 1

Following last week's excellent draw away to Marr, when the team executed a thrilling come-back from 3-20 down, the players and coaches are delighted this week to have their first 'home' game of the season. Although the venue is actually New Field (the Edinburgh Academy's playing fields), it is a welcome relief to everyone not to be on the road again this week.

Our game against Musselburgh earlier in the season cannot be described as anything other than an emphatic victory. However, Cup rugby is always a different prospect to a league fixture and we will not be taking anything for granted, although the knowledge that we caused Marr's first upset of the season will certainly inspire us.

Coach's comments:
"We welcome our first game close to Raeburn Place this season, as we play Musselburgh at New Field. We are grateful to the Edinburgh Academy for allowing us host the game there.

"Richard Mill returns from Kenya after playing for Samurai 7s last week and Jack Bruce gets a start after good performances off the bench in recent weeks. Kevin Jenkins, Ted Jones and 17-year-old scrum half Ben Grainger come onto the bench after impressing for the 2nd XV."
