Match Preview NL1 22: GHA v Accies

Saturday 7 April, Braidholm, 15:00

Our penultimate league game on Saturday sees us travel west to play third-placed GHA. This will not be an easy encounter, especially as the pressure to perform is all on us. When we met at Raeburn Place in December, GHA held us to a tight 29-7 win, with both sides playing attacking rugby. We expect more of the same from them on Saturday, but have no doubt our squad are prepared to work hard and stick in there.

Coach's Comments

"Lawrie Seydak, Sam Johnson and Richard Mill return to the starting line up, giving a different look to our 8-9-10 axis, meaning Max Love, Jack Mann and Will Stephen will start off the bench. Finlay Richardson comes back into the side for the first time since his successful U20 Six Nations campaign and is joined at front row cover by Rory Simpson.

"GHA is going to be a challenging fixture for us. They are third in a difficult league and have proven their ability to cause teams trouble in both attack and defence. Conditions are not looking great at the weekend and I believe we need to take the experience of the last three games and apply the learning at Braidholm on Saturday if we are to come out on top. Euan Clark is a quality coach who has done a great job with GHA this year. I am sure he will have a few surprises in store for us at the weekend making it an entertaining fixture, irrespective of the weather or ground conditions."
