Match preview, Premiership 13: Heriot's v Accies

Saturday 13 December 2014, Goldenacre, ko 2pm

Our team to play Heriot’s is very similar the one that started last week.

In the backs Nyle Godsmark and James Munro rotate, with Munro starting this week and Godsmark on the bench.

In the forwards Alex Allan makes his first start for us since he was capped for Scotland during their summer tour. He replaces unlucky Duncan Morrison, who had a good game last weekend and will start on the bench. Michael Liness and David Bates rotate at hooker, with Bates starting.

On the bench Robert Wilson and Jamie McCarthy both return after recovering from knocks and a couple of good games for the 2nd XV.

Our team to play Heriot's is: Ruairidh Young; Sam Pecqueur, Chris Dean, Iain Berthinussen, Jack Marples; Alex Glashan, James Munro; Alex Allan, David Bates, Lewis Niven; Greg Campbell, Alex Toolis; Ronan Seydak, Jamie Sole, Robin Snape.

Replacements: Michael Liness, Duncan Morrison, Jamie McCarthy, Ryan Godsmark, Robert Wilson.

Coach’s comments

Phil Leck said: "It was rewarding to see the squad put everything we have done in training into practice against Currie last week. The thing we really tried to emphasise was that they have potential. For us to climb up the table we’ve got to be winners and in the game against Currie the team played like winners.

"We will need to show more of the same grit and determination against Heriot's who are currently top of the table. However, when we played them at RP earlier this season it was a closely fought contest, with their 28-26 win only coming with a conversion in the final play of the match. We have shown we can take the game to them and that's exactly what we plan to do on Saturday."
