Match preview, NL1 15: Jed-Forest v Accies

The 1st XV are away to Jed-Forest this week. With Jed sitting a place, but just three points, above us in the table it is a crucial match for us to win. We beat them 34-14 at Raeburn Place back in September, but they have won seven of their last fixtures and will be digging in for a win at home. We need to dig deep and produce a vital victory.

NB if you are going down to support, Jed-Forest have told us that parking is only available on the old railway line. Access to the game will be from the south (town end) gate, with no access from the north gate.

Coach's Comments

Following last week’s win against Stew Mel, our forwards stay much the same, with Conor McGrath starting following his return from injury from the bench last week. However, injuries and unavailability have resulted in significant changes in the backs. Kieran Scoular comes in at 15 for the concussed Melvin-Farr, with Iain Berthinussen returning from a shoulder injury at 13 for Ewen Campbell, also concussed in last week’s game. Josh Pecqueur starts on the wing this week, with young Edinburgh Academy 1st XV captain, Ben Appleson, making his EAFC debut from the bench.

Our focus when we travel to Jed will be on maintaining our game plan, getting the fundamentals right and committing to the full 80 minutes, as we did last week against Stew Mel.
