Match Preview NL1 20: Accies v Kelso

Saturday sees us back at Raeburn Place for the first time in five weeks and everyone will be hoping to put last week behind us after our first defeat of the season. There is now pressure on the squad to secure four bonus-point wins in our remaining games. However, we will take it one game at a time and will be looking to replicate the winning form we displayed when we visited Poynder Park back in the autumn.

Kelso are coming off the back of a loss to Jed and, most recently, a draw against Musselburgh, but we showed our vulnerability on Saturday and Kelso will come to Raeburn Place determined to exploit that. Let us hope the Bulldog spirit reasserts itself and we dash any hopes they may have.

Coach's Comments

"Sam Johnson has been rested for the weekend while we get him to 100% fitness for the run in, so Max Love notches up another start, with Stage 3 BT Academy player Robbie Davis likely to make his debut off the bench. Lovett returns to the squad at lock, with Mann replacing Snape, who picked up a short-term injury against Jed.

"We have been presented with an opportunity to really show what we are about as a squad, with a renewed and narrow focus going into the week. We deviated from our usual approach to the game last week and allowed ourselves to be swept up in the occasion. We will not make the same mistake twice. This week it is back to process, back to our DNA, back to rolling up our sleeves and working hard for each other - we make amends and the score will inevitably take care of itself."

Other Games This Weekend

The 2nd XV have now finished their season and unfortunately the 3rd XV's final game, a rescheduled match away to Lasswade 2nd XV, has been cancelled as once again we could not raise a team.

Onwards & upwards!
