Match Preview Prem 13: Accies v Currie Chieftains

Saturday 11 January
1st XV v Currie Chieftains, RP, 14:00
We go into this game on the back of a spirited performance against Jed-Forest, when we secured a bonus-point win, and we will need to bring all that spirit and a lot of determination if we are to reverse the result from Malleny Park. Currie had been looking fairly invincible until a recent three-match run of losses. However, they are still second in the league - and their losses were to numbers one, two and four - and we know we are in for a very physical encounter. Please come and support the boys if you can.

Matchday logistics
Access to Raeburn Place is via the car park entrance at the bottom of Portgower Place. As the car park is in use by the contractor, unfortunately there is NO parking for players or spectators.

Match entry for anyone who is not a full member is £10 full price and £5 for concessions (with valid student or 60+ ID). Members, please remember to show your membership card at the gate.

We would advise spectators to wear wellies or walking boots this Saturday, as the ground is rather muddy.

A single, unisex toilet is available for emergency spectator use. This can be found in the Club's temporary portacabin, which is located against the Portgower Place wall in the car park.

Post-match hospitality is at Dean Bowling Club - click here for directions.

Coach's comments
"Christmas did not bring us any presents, just more injuries, so we have seven selection changes and two positional from our game v Jed-Forest.

"It is great to see Harry Paterson back at the club for his first game this season and he lines up alongside his brother Jack on the wing. Robert Wilson comes into inside centre, with Max Love moving from scrumhalf to standoff, due to injuries to Jamie Loomes and Neil Armstrong. Mark Sinclair starts at scrumhalf. Cole Lamberton replaces the injured David Anderson at prop. Robbie Simpson, Patrick O’Sullivan, Matt Campbell and Richard Mill make up our changes on the bench.

"We are excited to be back at Raeburn Place again this weekend for our game against Currie and we will be looking to build on our performances before Christmas. We are aware of the physical challenge Currie bring, but we need to continue to bring our game to the opposition."

1st XV v Currie Chieftains

2nd XV v Currie 2nd XV, Broughton High School, 14:00
The 2nd XV's last league fixture against Currie was conceded by Currie, due to a lack of front row players, but we did get a friendly against them. That does make them something of an unknown quantity, however, but as always, the 2nd XV will give their all.

3rd XV v Peebles A - postponed
Unfortunately, as Inverleith park is unplayable, we have had to postpone the 3rd XV's game against Peebles A for the second time. We are hoping once this has been rescheduled that it will be third time lucky.

Onwards & upwards!
