Match Preview Prem 15: Accies v Marr

Saturday 15 February
1st XV v Marr, Raeburn Place, 15:00
Following the two-week break from League rugby, the boys are eager to get their boots on again. However, whilst the pitch is currently just playable, with the forecast for further heavy rain, please watch out for updates on the website and social media.

We have been proud to see former Accies representing Scotland at 7s, U20s and senior level over the past two weeks, not least our Club Captain, Jamie Sole, who pulled on the thistle for the Scotland Club XV. Unfortunately, he was injured during that game, hence his absence from this week's teamsheet. However, he will be supporting from the touchline.

No doubt the boys on the field will appreciate his presence, as league-leaders Marr have clearly set out their stall as the team to beat this season. We came very close to doing just that on their home turf in the autumn, and the memory of that may just rattle them on Saturday. We are certainly up for the challenge.

1st XV match day logistics
Access to Raeburn Place is via the car park entrance at the bottom of Portgower Place. As the car park is in use by the contractor, unfortunately there is NO parking for players or spectators.

Match entry for anyone who is not a full member is £10 full price and £5 for concessions (with valid student or 60+ ID). Members, please remember to show your membership card at the gate.

We would advise spectators to wear wellies or walking boots this Saturday, as the ground is rather muddy.

A single, unisex toilet is available for emergency spectator use. This can be found in the Club's temporary portacabin, which is located against the Portgower Place wall in the car park.

Post-match hospitality is at Dean Bowling Club - click here for directions.

Coach's comments
"There is a settled look to our back line with only one change – William Stephen coming into the starting team for Richard Mill, who is away with work. Callum Black gets his first start of the season at hooker, with Rory Jackson released from Scotland U20 on the bench. Ted Jones replaces the injured Jamie Sole on the flank and Jack Bruce returns at 8.

"We continue the gradual return of Angus Inwood and David Anderson back into the first team for what is an important run of five league games for the Club."

1st XV v Marr

2nd XV v Stewart's Melville 2nd XV, Inverleith, 15:00
The 2s will play Stew Mel away at Inverleith, weather and pitch permitting. Again, please look out for updates on the website and social media.

3rd XV v Linlithgow 2nd XV - POSTPONED
Unfortunately the Entertainers' game against Linlithgow has had to be postponed, as the pitches in Inverleith Park are unplayable. We will advise of the rescheduled date for this fixture once it has been arranged.

Onwards & upwards!
