Match Preview Prem14: Boroughmuir v Accies

Saturday 15 December
1st XV v Boroughmuir, Meggetland, 15:00
Our home match against Boroughmuir was very tight, with us losing 13-15 in the dying moments of the game. It was a match we could have won so we wil be looking to even up the score tomorrow.

Coach's Comments
"It is an unfamiliar, albeit welcome, feeling having four pros available this week. Rory Sutherland and Murray McCallum make up a robust front row partnership with Callum Black. Mungo Mason is added to a very well balanced backrow, with Lawrie Seydak returning from injury to provide some impact and physicality off the bench.

"Tom Brown returns to the back three, although this time in support of the impressive 17-year-old Harry Paterson, who takes his place at fullback.

"It is important to recognise that players who would regularly start in the 2nd XV will move to the bench in place of the 1st XV players making room for pros. It is a mark of who we are that this process is well received by our players, who see it as an opportunity to learn from professional players in our environment.

"Embarrassingly, despite being in the business end of the season, we are still no closer to any clarity on what exactly it is that we are playing for. However, we need to rock up and show our teeth at the weekend, like a team fighting for its existence and survival in the Premiership."

1st XV v Boroughmuir

2nd XV v Dundee, RP, 14:00
We hope to welcome Dundee to Raeburn Place tomorrow, although they are struggling to raise a team at the moment. Please watch social media for updates. Player numbers are still an issue for many clubs, which is a serious problem for the game in Scotland as a whiole and we sincerely hope Dundee will be able to play.

3rd XV v Ross High, Broughton High School, 14:00
Ross High are another club struggling for numbers and our away fixture against them was cancelled as they could not raise a team. However, they have confirmed for tomorrow, which is good news for al the guys involved.

Onwards & upwards!
