Match preview, NL1 13: Watsonians v Accies

Our last encounter against Watsonians ended in a victory for them, but we earned a losing bonus point from the game and actually had the winning of it. They are now riding high at the top of the league, with 10 wins from 12 and 53 points, including 11 try bonus points. However, no side is infallible and we should go to Myreside undaunted by the prospect.

Coach's Comments

"Losing Lewis Niven last week has been a blow for us. However, it gives Clement Lacour an opportunity to start and Connor McGrath returns to the squad having recovered from the ankle injury that side lined him for four weeks. A reshuffle in the back row sees the returning Lawrie Seydak move to 8, with Tom Drennan moving to 6.

"Alex Blair returns to the starting line up after impressing off the bench last week against Musselburgh.

"Preparation this week has been interrupted due to weather and pitch conditions but it has given us a valuable opportunity to spend some time indoors, nailing our fundamentals. Our efforts have been focused on our own performance and correcting some of the subtle wrongs from the Musselburgh game. We will go to Watsonians with that in mind: it’s about the performance and getting our basics right."
