This was very much a game of two halves, with our spectators delighted to take a draw - and two league points - away from a fixture that looked doomed by about five minutes after the break. At that point, Marr were winning 20-3 and we had not given the impression we had what it would take to stage a comeback. How wrong we were!

Our adventures at Fullarton Park were definitely reminiscent of our last game there - when we scored four tries to two, but lost the match on penatlies - with the referee awarding penalty after penalty to the home side. Two yellow cards in the latter stages of the first half did nothing to help the situation, although we did incredibly well to hold Marr to just one score while we were down to 13 men.

To be frank, Marr did not look that special, but there was maybe too much respect for the opposition amongst our squad. The half-time talk clearly had a positive effect and we upped our game considerably, especially once back to full strength, and kept Marr at bay. A yellow card for Marr certainly helped, but we also appeared to be tiring less than them, and ran in three really good tries, two in the last ten minutes of the game.

It was a thrilling come back and showed just what we are capable of when we believe we can do it.

Our Jacoby Rugs Man of the Match was hooker, Sean Crombie, who is kindly sponsored by Greg Campbell.

Despite a very tight first half - 15-12 at the break - the 2nd XV went on to win this match reasonably comfortably and successfuly retain the Gavin Calder Memorial Cup. The 2nd XV Man of the Match was captain, Kevin Jenkins.

Linlithgow 2nd XV 28-0 Accies 3rd XV
Unfortunately we were unable to raise a team to fulfil this fixture, so conceded an automatic 0-28 loss. We currently have more than 20 players who are injured or otherwise unavailable, but we hope as injuries heal we will be able to get a 3rds team out.

Onwards & upwards!
