Match Summary Prem 9: Accies v Aberdeen Grammar

Results, Saturday 23 November
1st XV 10-20 Aberdeen Grammar
2nd XV 31-31 Boroughmuir
3rd XV 19-31 Lasswade

Accies 1st XV 10-20 Aberdeen Grammar 2nd XV
The weather on Saturday afternoon was appaling - driving wind and rain made the conditions far from ideal for rugby. Attempts to play an open, expansive game were doomed to failure with the wet ball leading to dropped passes and so both sides slogged it out in a forwards-driven game. We matched Aberdeen try for try - two-a-piece - but they won the kicking game, including two penalties, to take the victory.

Accies 2nd XV 31-31 Boroughmuir 2A
This was an exciting, high-scoring game, despite the weather conditions, with Boroughmuir chasing us all the way. Although we were never down in the scoring, Boroughmuir kept bringing themselves level and unfortunately that's where they were when the final whistle went. A great game against a very different Boroughmuir team to the one the 2s faced earlier in the season.

The 2nd XV Man of the Match was Hamish McLean, who has recently returned from injury. Hamish is kindly sponsored by Douglas Roberts.

Lasswade 2nd XV 31-19 Accies 3rd XV
We were delighted to get a team out after a couple of weeks of failing to do so. However, as we had no subs, we had to play with 14 throughout the match. We therefore did extremely well to keep the score so respectable against a solid Lasswade side that has turned out every week.

Onwards & upwards!
