Match Preview Prem12: Heriot's v Accies

Saturday 1 December
1st XV v Heriot's, Goldenacre, 14:00
We are back to Goldenacre for the second week in a row, this time for our second league match against Heriot's. We gave them a scare in the Cup last week, but should not expect them to underestimate us again.

Coach's Comments
"Another week and another reshuffle, with the carrousel of injuries and unavailability we are dealing with on a weekly basis. Concussions sustained to both 10 and 12 last week mean a different makeup to our inside backs, with Max Love, Vincent Hart and Will Stephen coming in, all of whom will all give us control over our kicking game. In the backrow Jack Mann, who is ruled out with a dead leg, is replaced by the returning Lawrie Seydak, who has now recovered from a niggle picked up on international duty with Poland.

"I think we were underestimated by Phil and Heriots’ last week and that was reflected in their selection and poor start, when they appeared almost surprised that we came to play rugby. I do not think we will be in for the same soft start this week and we need to adapt the way we play in anticipation of that. Heriot’s power game is there for all to see and we cannot allow ourselves to be sucked into that battle of attrition."

2nd XV v Selkirk, away, 14:00
The 2nd XV head down to the Borders for their away fixture against Selkirk A. We won the home game 60-3 and on paper this should be another win for us, but it is never easy to travel to the Borders and our raft of injuries will have changed the look of the 2nd XV sqaud from the start of the season.

3rd XV v Peebles, away, 14:00
After a month of no rugby, the 3rd XV will be pleased to get some game time this week. They also travel to the Borders, to take on Peebles who are joint top of the league with us, although our points difference is better by around 100.

Onwards & upwards!
