Update on Seson 2019/20

Further to the interim suspension of the rugby season, Scottish Rugby has now confirmed that the domestic season will not re-commence and that the 2019/20 season is null and void. This means there will be no automatic promotion or relegation for any club's teams. Our three teams will therefore start the 2020/21 season in the same leagues as 2019/20: the Premiership, East Reserve League 1 and East Reserve League 2.

The Club's Board has issued the following statement in response to this announcement:

"We fully support both the decision to end the season due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and to declare it null and void as a result. While unfortunate, we believe it was simply not practical to settle on equitable final league and Cup positions given that all 2019/20 fixtures could not be completed.

"We recognise that both our 1st and 3rd XVs were in precarious positions in their leagues at the time of closure, albeit with games remaining. We are of course pleased that neither will be relegated after losing the opportunity to secure our Premiership status. While most clubs were not on this knife-edge, we note that the majority of Scottish clubs consulted agree with the outcome and we feel this decision will provide all clubs with some certainty for future planning during this uncertain time."
