Ed Saunders' Cup

BATs U18 v EA 1st XV

Raeburn Place

This year 's annual Ed Saunders' Cup match, between BATs U18 and the  Edinburgh Academy 1st XV, will be at Raeburn Place on Saturday 30 March, ko 10:00. There will be a £2 entry charge, which includes automatic entry into the raffle. All proceeds will go to support the work BATs does across north Edinburgh.

Please note the early kick-off, which is to accommodate those going to the Heineken Champions' Cup quarter-final between Edinburgh and Munster at 12:45.

As a result of the early start, the clubhouse at Raeburn Place will be open from 09:00 with breakfast rolls and a hot drink available for £3.

The game is a step in the development of both teams’ players and also serves as an introduction to our wider community for the Academy players, although many of them this year have come up through Accies Minis and BATs. As usual, the BATs team will be made up of regular BATs U18s players from the wide north Edinburgh community.

The importance of the work the BATs development team and volunteers do is plain to see in the number of players who move through to senior rugby at the three partner clubs - Broughton, Accies and Trinity - and to a number of other clubs around Scotland. An increasing number are also getting capped for Scotland at various age-group levels.

We do hope you can make it along to support our future players and look forward to seeing you at Raeburn Place on 30 March.

The future’s bright... with your support!
