PLAYING AT ACCIES

Edinburgh Accies welcomes players of all levels of the game with a keen focus on learning and developing in a fun and friendly environment. We are an ambitious club and we pride ourselves on our professional attitude but we believe these must all be underpinned by the joy of playing, on and off the pitch. The Club has provided over 100 full internationalists - more than any other club in Scotland - and have a strong track record of players progressing into professional rugby and age-grade representation, so we must be doing something right! The most notable recent Accies to make these steps would be Scotland internationals Hamish Watson and Blair Kinghorn but many more currently ply their trade in professional rugby.

We typically field three teams a week, and an occasional veterans team, and our coaching ethos is to involve the entire playing squad in our twice-weekly coaching sessions. Training sessions are generally held at Raeburn Place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings though we will often use the 3G facilities at Broughton High School (five minutes walk from the Club) during winter months.

The Club also has a strong tradition in rugby 7’s and regularly compete in the Kings of the Sevens borders circuit. Recent highlights include winning the Gala 7’s and reaching the final of the Melrose 7’s in 2019. Scotland 7’s internationals Jamie Farndale, Sam Pecqueur and Nyle Godsmark all cut their teeth down here at Raeburn Place.

We are committed to quality coaching for all playing members and have a team of dedicated and experienced coaches who will help you improve your game. We also believe in providing a first-class medical team (doctor and physios), a conditioning team, nutritionist and a management structure for all Club teams.
