Anne Tod, 1959-2025

It is with great sadness that we share the news of club stalwart Anne Tod’s passing.

Anne represented everything a club like Accies is all about. Anne was first and foremost an Accies supporter, but her passion for the Club was much deeper.

Anne took up many roles at the Club, including Club Secretary, where she carried out her duties with exceptional detail and pride. However, Anne’s responsibilities did not end there. Over and above the call of duty, Anne would ensure members, visiting teams, players and supporters were given a warm welcome to Raeburn Place. Anne took a very active interest in establishing the famous match day lunches in the old portakabins. Former Accies Head Coach and Director of Rugby, Bob Easson, fondly recalls the old portakabins, claiming they were a changing room, a meeting room, a medical facility, a bar and - because of Anne’s efforts - a fine dining restaurant!

The effort Anne put in to making the best of what was available to her was incredible. Anything that was requested to enhance the experience of a day at Accies was never too much trouble for Anne.

Anne was very proud of representing Accies and I recall the day Anne was gifted with her Accies gilet – I don’t think she ever had it off. She loved the Club and the Club loved her.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Anne’s family and many friends, especially her son, Fraser.

Anne’s funeral will take place at Warriston Crematorium at 1pm on Tuesday, 8th July, to which all friends are invited.

Rest in peace Anne and thank you for everything.
